বাংলাদেশ দলের ওয়ানডে অধিনায়কের পদ থেকে সড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছেন তামিম ইকবাল। মূলত পিঠের চোটের অনিশ্চয়তার কারণেই এই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন তামিম। এরপর প্রায় এক সপ্তাহ পেরিয়ে গেলেও এখনো নতুন অধিনায়কের নাম ঘোষণা করেনি বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড। তবে নতুন অধিনায়ক হিসেবে আলোচনায় আছেন তিনজন। সাকিব আল হাসান, লিটন দাস ও মেহেদী হাসান মিরাজ।
বৃহস্পতিবার ঢাকার সোনারগাঁও হোটেলে একটি ফিন্যান্স সার্ভিস প্রতিষ্ঠানের অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নেন লিটন দাস। সেখানে সংবাদমাধ্যমের মুখোমুখি হন তিনি। এসময় ওয়ানডে অধিনায়কত্ব নিয়ে প্রশ্নের উত্তরে জাতীয় দলের এই ক্রিকেটার বলেন, ‘এটা সম্পূর্ণ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের বিষয়। আপনারা হয়তো ২-১ দিনের ভেতরেই খবরটা পেয়ে যাবেন। আমি বলার চেয়ে এই জিনিসটা বোর্ড থেকে পেলে খুব ভালো হবে। আমার বলা উচিত হবে না কোনো ভাবেই। যেহেতু আমি বোর্ডের কর্মীর মতো, পারিশ্রমিক পাই, উপার্জন করি। এই জিনিসগুলোর জন্য একটু অপেক্ষা করেন। ২-১ দিন অপেক্ষা করলেই পেয়ে যাবেন।’
সেই সাথে বোর্ড থেকে এমন দায়িত্ব দেয়া হলে নিজের সেরাটাই দেবেন বলে জানান লিটন। তিনি বলেন, ‘যেহেতু অনেক দিন ধরে খেলছি, দল আমার কাছে অনেক ভালো কিছু চায়। আমিও চাইবো দেশকে ভালো কিছু দিতে। আমি শতভাগ দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করব যেটা সব সময় করে এসেছি।’
বাংলাদেশ ওয়ানডে দলের সহ-অধিনায়ক লিটন দাস। তামিম ইকবালের অনুপস্থিতিতে ওয়ানডেতে বাংলাদেশকে পাঁচ ম্যাচে নেতৃত্ব দিয়েছেন লিটন। তাঁর নেতৃত্বে বাংলাদেশ দল গত ডিসেম্বরে ভারতের বিপক্ষে ওয়ানডে সিরিজ জিতেছে। আফগানিস্তানের বিপক্ষে সর্বশেষ ওয়ানডে সিরিজের শেষ দুই ম্যাচেও তামিম ইকবালের অবর্তমানে তিনি ছিলেন বাংলাদেশ দলের অধিনায়ক।
